Frequently Asked Questions

Have a Question? We are here to help

What is a wheeled excavator?

A wheeled excavator, sometimes called a rubber duck excavator, is a digging and lifting machine that runs on tyres instead of tracks.

This gives it excellent mobility, making it ideal for roadwork, utilities, and urban construction projects. Unlike tracked excavators, wheeled excavators can travel between sites at higher speeds, reducing the need for transport equipment.

When will Kubota wheeled excavators be available in the UK?

Our range of wheeled excavators will be available from 2026. We’re working closely with Kubota to offer models that combine high performance, efficiency, and operator comfort.

You can register your interest now to receive launch updates, specifications, and early-access offers.

What are the benefits of a wheeled excavator over a tracked excavator?

The main advantage of a wheeled excavator is mobility.

These machines can travel faster on roads, making them perfect for jobs with multiple locations in a single day. They also reduce ground damage, which is ideal for urban or finished surfaces.

What types of jobs are wheeled excavators best for?

A wheeled excavator is ideal for road maintenance, drainage, utilities, landscaping, and urban construction. They excel in environments where mobility, speed, and minimal ground disturbance are priorities.

Will parts and servicing be available for wheeled excavators?

Absolutely. BTE Plant Sales offers complete aftersales support, including genuine Kubota wheeled excavator parts, servicing, and repairs at our depots or via our mobile engineers.

Can a wheeled excavator work on rough terrain?

Yes – while wheeled excavators perform best on hard, stable ground, many models feature outriggers for stability and can handle uneven or semi-rough terrain for short durations.

How can I register my interest in BTE’s wheeled excavators?

You can contact BTE Plant Sales today by phone, email, or sign up to our newsletter above.

KW095 is 9,700kg-11,500kg

KW115 is 10,800kg-12,800kg
