Compaction Equipment at BTE
At BTE Plant Sales, we supply the full range of Bomag compaction equipment, trusted worldwide for performance, durability, and low running costs. From trench rammers and vibratory plates to single-drum, pedestrian rollers and tandem rollers, Bomag machines deliver the right level of compaction for every application. We also stock Epiroc hydraulic compaction plates that are suited to excavators from 1 tonne to 40 tonnes.
For confined areas, utilities, and narrow trenches, Bomag trench rammers and vibratory plates provide powerful compaction in compact, easy-to-handle machines. The Bomag BT60 trench rammer is available in both petrol and electric options, giving contractors the choice between traditional power and zero-emission operation for urban or indoor sites. Vibratory plates are ideal for pathways, landscaping, and general groundworks.
For larger projects, Bomag tandem rollers and single-drum rollers are the industry standard. These machines deliver consistent, high-quality compaction for road construction, foundations, and large civil engineering works. With Stage V engines and operator-friendly design, Bomag rollers combine productivity with compliance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Have a Question? We are here to help
What is compaction equipment used for?
Compaction equipment is designed to increase soil density and stability by applying force, vibration, or impact. It is used in road construction, utilities, landscaping, and civil engineering to prepare strong, even surfaces for building.
Without proper compaction, ground can settle over time, leading to cracks, uneven surfaces, or structural issues.
What types of compaction equipment does BTE Plant Sales offer?
We supply the full range of Bomag compaction machinery, including trench rammers, plate compactors, tandem rollers, and pedestrian rollers.
Each machine is designed to suit different applications, from compact trench work to large road and infrastructure projects.
In addition, if you are looking for a hydraulic plate compactor, we have you covered. We supply Eprioc's range that can suit carriers from 1 ton all the way through to 40 tonnes.
What is the difference between a rammer and a plate compactor?
A rammer delivers high-impact force in a small area, making it ideal for trenches and confined spaces. A plate compactor applies vibration over a wider surface, making it better for pathways, landscaping, and base preparation.
The BT60 can come with a 6", 9" or 12" foot depending on your need. There are several different plate compactors that make up Bomag's BP series, take a look at them here:
What are Bomag trench rammers used for?
Bomag trench rammers, such as the BT60 petrol and electric models, are used for compacting backfill in narrow trenches, foundations, and utility works. Their slim design makes them effective in tight areas where larger equipment cannot operate.
Additionally, they can be used for other compaction jobs such as paving but a rubber mat is required to protect the material. These can be purchased from our Parts Department.
Are Bomag rollers suitable for road construction?
Yes. Bomag tandem and single-drum rollers are widely used in road construction and large civil works. They deliver consistent compaction, operator comfort, and fuel-efficient performance for long shifts on site.
Why choose Bomag compaction equipment?
Bomag is a global leader in compaction technology, known for reliable machines, low-maintenance designs, and long service life. Their equipment combines strength, efficiency, and compliance with modern emissions standards.
What are Epiroc hydraulic compactor plates used for?
Epiroc hydraulic compactor plates are designed for trench compaction, slope finishing, and ground preparation. They attach to excavators, allowing operators to compact soil quickly and safely without needing manual equipment in hazardous areas. They are especially effective for backfilling around foundations and pipelines.
