Our Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement – March 2017
BTE Plant Sales Ltd fully supports the Modern Slavery Act which was established in 2015. This
statement is made in pursuant of Section 54 of the Act and sets out the actions BTE Plant Sales Ltd
has taken to drive out acts of modern slavery and human trafficking within its business and any part
of its supply chains.
The company is committed to working in line with international human rights principles and adopt
the highest commercial and ethical standards. BTE Plant Sales Ltd has a zero-tolerance policy
towards any breach of the 2015 Modern Slavery Act, including the violation of human rights
principals and human trafficking. The company will not work with any organisations knowingly
involved in human trafficking or modern slavery.
BTE Plant Sales Ltd undertakes significant due diligence in relation to human trafficking and modern
slavery during the supplier approval process and annual supplier review meetings. With some
products imported from outside of the UK, the company is mindful these suppliers carry a greater
risk of modern slavery and human trafficking issues, and as such, will continue to monitor the
control measures of these suppliers to minimise the risk. Despite the increased risk, BTE Plant Sales
does not engage with countries identified as “high risk”.
The Directors of the business have taken responsibility for implementing this statement and
subsequent investment to ensure the correct training is available to support this process.
BTE Plant Sales will review this statement and subsequent processes on an annual basis.
